un cadeau - a gift

Avec mes cadeaux faits mains on allait chez nos amis un soir. C'étions nous, les invités, bien sûr on donnait une petite attention....mais nous sommes retournés avec cette caisse pleine de pommes! En plus elles sont bonnes à croquer autant que dans une bonne compote faite par mon chef préféré.

We went to visit our friends an evening. Of course I brought them some small home made gifts but surprise: we went home with even a bigger gift: a crate full of juicy apples. They're so tasty in a compote too and I bet they would be great in a real dutch apple pie!

Un de mes petits cadeaux était ce carnet que j'avais gardé pour juste une bonne occasion. Remarquez comment on peut facilement changer le bloc note une fois le premier a été utilisé. Vous pouvez voir le carnet en détail ici:

One of my presents was this small note book I made some time ago and kept it for the right occasion. Notice how easily one can change the blocnote for a new one once the first one is used up. Follow the link above to see it in detail.

J'avais besoin plus de petits cadeaux, donc j'ai fabriqué un autre carnet. J'en ai fait de très beaux carnets suivez les liens pour ne rien rater.

Remarquez dans les photos comment les couleurs sont bien ensemble: l'empreinte gelliplate recto et verso et puis le dos du carnet fait avec un tissu de meuble à l'envers parce que les couleurs étaient juste bien avec la couverture. Vous avez vu comment les petites phrases des deux côtes parlent ensemble?

A l'intérieur il y a un petit pochette pour un ticket de tram ou pour un ATC comme j'ai placé en exemple. Le bloc note peut être renouvelé facilement.

More presents were needed so I made another one with a gelli print. I made quite a few lovely booklets, so follow the links here above as to miss nothing of good ideas how to make a simple present!

I find it a challenge to always find the right phrase to it and the one on the front interacts with the one on the back. The inside has got pockets for extra tickets or cards and I put in an ATC as an example. The blocnote can be easily changed once it is used up. For the spine of the booklet I used a furniture fabric on the wrong side of it as it coloured so nicely with the printed papers.

Jamais deux sans trois. J'ai fait un troisième cadeau. Mais.....je ne savais pas tout à fait comment le faire donc j'ai fait un essai. Ce premier résultat n'était pas comme j'ai voulu, donc je recommence....

Things come in threes as the saying goes so I needed another present. But only.... I didn't quite know how to make it so I made a sample. It didn't work the way I meant it to, so I made another one.

Oui, c'est ce que je veux! Si vous voulez un tutoriel faites moi le savoir, car j'ai photographié le pas à pas avec des explications comment faire un sac avec la doublure! Donc ce sac orange fait avec de la feutrine était l'exemple.

Pour le vrai sac, un petit peu plus grand, j'ai fait un patchwork avec quelques de mes tissus bien aimés et gardés très longtemps. C'était le moment de les utiliser et les tourner en cadeau.

For the real bag, slightly bigger too, I made a patchwork of some of my most cherished printed fabrics. I kept them for so long but now I felt that they had to turn into a gift.
