Deuxième partie pour partager avec vous ce qui a marqué le temps. Nous sommes allés à Paris pour fêter notre anniversaire de mariage de 40 ans un grand moment dans notre vie.

This is part two to share with you what has made such an impression of time for us. We went to Paris to celebrate our 40th anniversary, quite a milestone.

C'a commencé ainsi il y a 40 ans.

This is how it all started 40 years ago.

Paris n'arrête jamais de m'émerveiller. Je sors du métro et je vois du streetart, ou ce bâtiment comme un code barre (mais un ou deux pas plus loin on perd l'image de l'alignement)......

Un grand moment était le samedi soir quand nous sommes allés voir le musical "Priscilla Folle du désert" à Casino de Paris..... pas de photos hélas mais un lien pour partager avec vous l'idée de ce grand spectacle. Nous étions présent au dernier show à Paris mais, bonne nouvelle, maintenant la comédie musicale commence sa tournée en France. Nous avons adoré ce show de drag-queens, avec leur rêves et déceptions; avec un beau message sur la tolérance, la liberté et les valeurs de la vie.

Paris never stops to surprise me. I set one foot outside the underground and I see streetart, or this building like a barcode (but one step further and one loses the picture of the alignment)......

One great moment was on the saturday evening when we went to see the musical "Priscilla Folle du Désert" in Casino de Paris .... I wasn't allowed to take pictures so you'll have to make do with the links I send here to give you an idea. It was the last show in Paris before the musical is going on tour in France. We loved this show of drag Queens with all their dreams and deceptions, and with a beautiful message about tolerance, freedom and values of life.

Emerveillement encore quand nous avons traversé le cimetière du Montparnasse pour aller de notre hôtel à un exposition. La silence et de l'ombre étaient de bienvenue au milieu de Paris avec les températures bien au delà 30°C. Et tiens, on a passé le tombe de Baudelaire.... restons dans le thème littérature..... voir:

We were amazed to find the cemetery of Montparnasse on our route from the hotel to an exhibition. So quiet and shady which we welcomed here in the middle of Paris where temperatures were well above the 80s, nearly 90 F. And by accident we came upon the tombstone of Baudelaire, a French poet from the 19th century ... well, I'm staying close to the litterature theme then.... see the link above.

Sortant du cimetière nous voyions ces belles maisons .... streetart en quelque sorte....

Out of the cemetery we came upon these beautiful buildings .... with streetart, if one could call it like that.

Nous, avec notre fille qui habite à Paris et qui nous accompagnait, arrivions alors à la Fondation Cartier pour l'Art contemporain pour l'exposition de Junya Ishigami. Cet architecte à conçue l'exposition spécialement pour la Fondation Cartier. Il a une vision du futur très ouverte et innovante, avec des idées sur la société évoluant vers des besoins différents comment vivre ensemble.

J'étais continuellement surprise de voir son œuvre de 19 projects, surtout les maquettes et dessins. Le plus impressionnant j'ai trouvé le projet nommé "Jardin d'enfants". Incroyable comment Ishigami a utilisé les illustrations d'enfants, les mis en collage et ensuite les a développé en bâtiment. Je montre les photos de ce projet ici. Prenez le temps de lire le texte aussi car il est autant poète que créateur de l'art conceptuel.

We, including our daughter who lives in Paris and who accompanied us, then arrived at our exhibition at Fondation Cartier for contemporart art. Junya Ishigami designed this exhibition specially for the Fondation Cartier. He is an architect with freeing ideas about living together in our changing society.

I was constantly amazed and surprised at seeing his work but most impressive I found the "Forest Kindergarten" of which I show some photos here. Please take the time to read the text too. It was so inspiring to see how he started to create the buildings from children's drawings of animals and plants. He collaged all their illustrations together to form an idea of how the playground needed to take shape.

Dans le quartier où ma fille habite il se trouve un église pas comme les autres. Normalement on voit à l'intérieur des piliers en pierre mais dans Notre Dame du Travail l'intérieur semble bâti par Gustave Eiffel avec une armature métallique. Mais c'était en effet l'architecte Godefroy Astruc qui a construit cet église qui date de 1902.

In my daughter's neighbourhood there's a church not like any other church I have seen. We usually see stone built pilars inside a church, but in Notre Dame du Travail the architect used metallic structures to build this church in 1902. It was especially built for the workers who had the task to construct the world' fair in 1889.

Beaucoup trop court était notre weekend à Paris mais nous étions très heureux... ça se voit, non?

Much too short was our visit to Paris but we were very happy.... it's showing isn't it?
