Holland in the spring

J'y étais que quelques jours, dans mon petit pays à côté de la mer du Nord.

I was only for a few days in my little country by the North Sea.

Puisque l'année dernière, dans la même période, j'ai surtout photographié les tulipes et la mer, j'ai mis l'accent sur d'autres sujets pour cette année.

Since last year, in the same period, I showed you pictures of tulips, the beach and he sea, I focussed on different aspects fot this year's photos.

Un soir, avec un joli coucher du soleil, je suis allée photographier le "château de Keukenhof". Le château est entouré d'un grand parc où aujourd'hui se trouve l'exposition des tulipes et autres bulbes en fleurs sur une partie. Il y a un jardin avec des sculptures et une partie est comme une forêt. Près du château j'ai trouvé ce magnolia en fleur et je l'ai photographié de tous les angles.

One evening, with a lovely sunset, I went to take pictures of the castle of Lisse, "The Keukenhof". The castle is surrounded with gardens and a forest. Part of the garden is the exposition of bulbflowers in this time of year. Close to the castle I saw this beautiful magnolia and I had to photograph it from all angles.

Ce château n'est pas construit comme un bâtiment de défense. Il date de 1642. C'était plutôt un manoir et appartenait à un grand domaine. Le Keukenhof s'appelle ainsi car ces terrains servaient comme un potager pour le seigneur. Peut être j'utiliserai mes photos pour un challenge de Wanderlust, un atelier en ligne. Avec ces tours il donne vraiment l'idée d'un château, ce que j'ai besoin pour ma création. Je n'ai pas participé à tous les challenges mais quelques exemples se trouvent par les liens suivants:

The castle, from 1642, had not been built as a fortress, but was more like a manor. It belonged to a larger area of a lord. Its fertile land provided the lord's kitchen with a great variety of herbs and vegetables from where the "Keukenhof" got the name (keuken= kitchen, hof= garden). As this building looks very much like a castle, I'd like to use my pictures in a challenge for Wanderlust, an online workshop. I don't participate every week but you can see some of mine following the links here above.

La visite se termine avec une balade sur la plage et quelques photos d'un paysage si Hollandais.

This visit ends with a walk along the shore and the sunset over a typical dutch landscape.
