oiseaux de passage - remember the flight

Oiseaux migrateurs ................. parce que le climat le veut...la nourriture.... la reproduction, les habitudes .....

Migrating birds .......... direction North ou rather South ...... where there's better food, shelter, because of the temperature .............

Mais ce n'était pas pour des raisons scientifique que j'ai choisis de dessiner le pélican. C'était lors d'une visite dans une des nombreuses chapelles en Bretagne (le Morbihan) que j'ai appris que l'oiseau souvent sculpté dans les sablières est le pélican, symbole de la charité.

C'était donc le pélican que j'ai voulu dessiner sur une carte postale pour participer à l'exposition "Migrations" à Bratislava en septembre. Vous pouvez trouver les informations suivant le lien:

But it wasn't for scientific reasons that I chose the pelican to draw. It was because I was amazed to hear that pelicans are a symbol of charity. It was during a visit to one of the many chapels in Brittany that I learned this.

So I thought this was also the bird I wanted to send to the exhibition "Migrations" which will be held in September in Bratislava. Artists and illustrators from all over the world are participating. Draw a bird and send the mailart first to an address in UK where they will be gathered. It is to draw attention to so many people forced to move away from their homes and find a safer place.
