rois mages - three wise men
Aujourd'hui c'est l'Epiphanie, une fête célébrée le dernier dimanche, mais officièlement la date est de 6 janvier.
Today it's Epiphany...it was celebrated in church last Sunday, but the date really is the 6th of January.
C'était ce jour là, il y a 2016 ans, que les rois mages arrivaient à Bethléhem pour adorer l'enfant Jésus. Il ne restent pas de photos donc il existent beaucoup de différents façon comment visualiser ces rois de l'Orient. A l'ordre de mes photos: les rois comment on les ai donné cadeau récemment, les rois mages peints dans le 15ième siècle, les rois mages de notre crêche à la maison.
It was on the 6th of January the three wise men arrived in Bethlehem to bring homage to the newborn king. As there are no photographs of the kings of Orient, there exist many ways to picture them; in the order of my photos: the three wise men figurines we gave as a present recently, a painting from the 15th century and the small statues in our nativity group at home.
Il y a quelques années que j'ai créé un group de personnages pour la crêche pour notre église. Malheureusement quelques jours avant Noël deux statues sont tombés et cassés. J'avais encore deux anciennes tuiles pour les remplacer et j'ai peint à nouveau les deux rois mages manquants. Mon style a changé un peu......

Some years ago I created a nativity group for our church, painted on old roof tiles. They looked sturdy enough but they should not fall. Unfortunately two of them got broken just a couple of days before Christmas. I quickly painted two new wise men to complete the group. Three years after the first ones, I could not paint them exactly in the same way.....
