gratitude

C'est ce temps de l'année quand je pense à quoi ou à qui je peux être reconnaissante. C'est peut être parce que dans mes cours anglais (école primaire) j'explique aux élèves l'origine de 'thanksgiving day' une fête nationale aux Etats-Unis. Bien sûr que les enfants ont voulu écouter l'histoire quand ils ont vu le grand dessin sur mon tableau. Si vous voulez trouver d'information (facile à lire) cliquez sur ces liens:

It's this time of the year....thinking about what I'm really grateful for. I take some time for reflection I guess because I'm focussed on Thanksgiving Day. I explained the origins of this american national holiday in my english classes. The story was accompanied by a big drawing on my old fashioned blackboard (which happens to be green).

Gratitude........je ressens la gratitude pour les possibilités de pouvoir créer et.....oh ....tant plus, mais aujourd'hui je me limite de vous montrer la gratitude pour ce que la nature offre en couleur.....gratis.....

Quel joie d'avoir réussi de teinter quelques bouts de tissus .......et de les transformer en sorte de drapeau, comme un drapeau à prière.

Gratitude......which I feel when I think of all these possibilities that I am given to create.....I'm grateful for so may things but it will stretch too far to write about them all, so today I just limit myself to showing you how grateful I am for all the colours that mother nature offers us....gratis.......

What fun to be able to colour fabrics with natural colours and then to transform these into prayerflags.

Ici dessus sont les bouts de tissu que j'ai utilisé; parfois tamponnés ou imprimé avec le gelli plate. Voyez-vous aussi un sachet de thé? Les plumes sont imprimées sur du papier de soie (de la boîte aux chaussures).

Here above I show you the pieces of fabrics I used. Some are stamped; others are printed with the gelli plate. Can you also spot a tea bag? The feathers were printed on silk paper (the cheap kind from shoe boxes).

J'ai fait un patchwork avec les éléments faits à la gelli ou dans le cas des fleurs de lys tamponné et un bout de tissu trouvé. Cet ensemble est prêt pour broderie.

I made a patchwork with printed and stamped elements. I used a little found fabric too. This panel is ready for embroidery.
