Today is Kingsday in the Netherlands, so I made a page in orange, the colour of the royal family.
Everything should be orange today. My husband offered me orange tulips.....on the menu carottes of course,.......o dear, in my wardrobe I can't find anything orange to wear apart from a jumper which is too warm on this beautiful sunny day. In the Netherlands they could well do with a warm pullover because it's very cold on this holiday.

I never celebrated Koningsday, King's Day, because when I lived in Holland it used to be Queen's Day until the heir to the throne, Willem Alexander, became king. As his birthday is on the 27th of April the national holiday was shifted from the 30th to the 27th of April. The festivities though are more or less the same. The king and his queen, Màxima, visit a town in the east of the country, Zwolle, where a whole programme of entertaining activities is organised.
